Menstrual Health
&
Advocacy
Through our work, we advocate for inclusive policies and education around menstruation. One of the ways that we do this is by offering Menstruation Education Series, includes educational workshops that aim to destigmatize menstruation, teach about reproductive anatomy, health & justice, period poverty and more. Workshops include:
Menstruation 101
Period Poverty
Period Party
Queer Periods
Menstruation and Disability
HIV and Menstruation
Other ways that we advocate for menstrual health, rights and justice is through social media advocacy and collaborating with other mission aligned organizations that care about the impact of period poverty.
Expanding ImpactSince our founding, PMF has been dedicated to raising awareness and providing education regarding menstruation (periods) and period poverty. Through our Affirming Fashion Closet, we distribute essential items including period products, underwear, soap, and washcloths to those in need.
Our impact has grown significantly over the past few years. In 2024, we distributed 2,130 menstrual products, 150 hygiene products, and 145 pairs of underwear to the Philadelphia community. In 2025, we have already collected over 140 menstrual products through our PMF Period Drive.
In addition, to distributing products, we provide workshops, host events and pop-ups to educate the community of menstrual health and well-being. Download our Menstrual Cycle facts:
